Sunrise Off Grid Transition Gathering is taking place this week 20-23rd AUG in Somerset, near shepton Mallet. Featuring green crafts, skill shares,workshops and talk from a plethora of great speakers including John Harris 'lawful rebellion' rob Hopkins 'Transition Towns' William Bloom 'Endorphins and the Buzz of Life' , Jonathan Cainer 'How to build your own time machine'. Learn to build your own Yurt, bake your own bread, make your own pots, convert your campervan, build a rocket stove!
Arc Village will be there demonstrating their Solar powered 250,000 volt Tesla coil, a solar parabolic dish for cooking and running a solar engine, hydrogen breakdown and explosion from water demonstration (yes, they make water explode in front of your eyes!). Plus music from Los Albertos * Seize The Day * Kangaroo Moon * Nila Raja * Ten Ton Tongue * Green Angels * Wriggles of Nen * Dan Arborise & many more. Looks set to be a beautiful event. Following serious concerns from Mendip District Council and emergency services about public safety and possible crime and disorder, the organisers agreed to pull the plug on it today (Sunday 26th July).
