I stewarded at Sunrise..and although there wasn't much of a festival to steward..the work still needed doing!
I was just wondering if we get free tickets to Big Chill..as we worked to get a free ticket for Sunrise..and Sunrise didn't happen even though we worked!!

There have been suggestion that you need not apply for a refund.
G Tickets are taking a bite out of your money anyway, so why not go to The Big Chill?
Those big hearted chillers have offered Sunrise a free spot.
The deal is simple and sincere. We get our own field right next to The Big Chill, probably with it's own separate entrance! the space is slightly smaller than our own site but there's still plenty of it.
The Big Chill is BIG!
There's room for us all to camp together, play together and party together.
If you can't get to Big Chill but made it to Sunrise on Thursday do the right thing and bite the bullet.
They don't need financial worries on top of soggy tents and muddy kit.

Think of it as an act of God. Uninsurable and part of life's rich tapestry.

Due to severe weather conditions in the Somerset area, Sunrise 2008 has been officially postponed till 2009.
We’re definitely going to do it next year … and we’re looking forward to seeing you there.
Thank you for your patience, support and understanding. Watch this space for our next announcement .
Right now, we’ve got an awful of infrastructure to carefully dismantle… and a lot of drying out to do…
So too have the people who actually made it all the way down to Somerset and who joined us on site for our first day.
We’re sorry too, to those who arrived later and were turned away.
We had to stop but till the last possible minute we were pushing on through the wind, the rain and the floods in the hope that we could still make it happen for everyone.

This was the official notice posted on the Sunrise website.

We are getting reports that nonetheless there was a storming party there last night despite the rain.
That's the kinda news we like to hear. Our man on the ground got to bed around 7am so more news when he finally wakes up (don't hold your breath). There were reportedly almost 5,000 already onsite for this eco-friendly bash.
The festival was under water and therefore simply could not go on.
The Orb were due to play along with System 7 and The Beat (for those of you who remember 2 Tone).

Please get in touch if you were there.

Unfortunately the festival has been hit by flash floods.
The BBC announced last night the event was cancelled, but the Sunrise website gave this report.
Please do not leave home for the festival if you are still waiting to leave.
We are experiencing ADVERSE weather conditions and will need to make a site assesssment in the coming hours.
Currently, the police are not allowing any access to the event until this review has taken place. We apologise for any inconvenience and will inform you of any changes via this website.

The site is in a low lying area so unless spectacular flash sunshine appears, youre gonna need wellies if they do manage to open the doors.
Or simply strip off and bathe in mud for the weekend.....mmmm.
I will be updating this blog every few hours today to keep you posted.Well as promised here is the update......it's off.
Rain has stopped play so we all traipse back to the pavilion.
Our thoughts go out to the organisers and the punters who drove down there only to be turned away.
Hats off to those that had the monster party on Thursday despite the friggin' awful weather.
