Weekly Round-Up
Greetings campers and here's the news.......followed by the weather.

Amy managed to overcome illness to play her set. Jay-Z came on to a spoof version of Wonderwall and then proceeded to bounce the crowd through a series on hits. Non believers go back to your narrow minded world.

The weather man got it wrong again and it rained Thursday night on site. Solex packed the wrong tent and paid the price for a hurried departure. Sun is out now and there's always Joe Bananas... Despite minor lung disease, Amy played her set to a packed audience. She lashed out at someone who tried to pull her hair. No big deal...Franz Ferdinand were also added to the line up. The Ting Tings played a lively set on the John Peel stage and Candi Staton brought some sunshine to everyone on the Pyramid stage. She finished with "You've Got The Love" to which thousands of hands went high in the air. The Jazz stage was blessed with an awesome show by Lupe Fiasco, setting the tone for Jay-Z to rip it up on the Pyramid stage. Hip hop ain't dead by a long shot. Tent crime was up from last year, so the thieving scum are still about. This is a topic we should all address.

Blissfields has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. The UK festival schedule is getting crowded and competition is rife. It's not just bad weather that is affecting festivals. Promoters are not only in need of a good line up and location but ground breaking ideas to lure festivals goers to their event.

Ben Turner & Rob da Bank have set up AIF, a non profit making group to enable small festivals to pool resources and ideas. This should help the independents deliver value for money and new, exciting features.

Finally we are setting up a TT table for our Punjabi Lounge Tent and will be hosting free UV ping pong for our members. We'll be at Beachdown as well as The Glade. Other festivals to be announced.
